Toby heads Conservation International’s Climate and Land Use: Markets and Policy program, which develops standards, shapes policies and creates corporate partnerships that support forest carbon activities. He is responsible for some of the largest corporate REDD investments ever undertaken, working with companies like Dell and the Walt Disney Company, and has been instrumental in the development of two of the world’s leading forest carbon standards – the VCS and Climate, Community & Biodiversity Standards. Toby has developed REDD legislative proposals adopted within various US climate bills, helped establish the Governors’ Climate & Forests Task Force, and serves on California’s REDD Offsets Working Group.
